There is a story about a wise old Christian about to die whose friend, trying to comfort him says, "Just think brother, you are about to receive your reward!".
"Oh no!", whispered the dying man, "I go to receive Mercy"
I have to admit that there are times that I wonder why God would love me. I don't deserve His love, I've broken so many of His commandments and done things my way rather than His way. If I had to earn His love, I would be lost forever. If I were counting on my reward, rather than mercy for what I deserved, my hope would be gone. Whenever I get in one of those moods where I doubt God could love me, I just remember that my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus and His righteousness! He loves me so much that when I turned to Him, He embraced me, forgave me, and forgot all of my Sin. My human mind can't comprehend or understand it, I just have to accept it. Praise the Lord, His steadfast love endures FOREVER! Blessings,
