Have you ever thought about why those people close to you are there, or about the things that happen in your life? Have you ever thought it was just by luck, or chance, that you've encountered people or experienced events?
In 1858 a Sunday School teacher, Mr. Kimball, led a Boston shoe clerk to give his life to Jesus Christ. The clerk was Dwight L. Moody who became an evangelist. In 1879 while preaching in England the heart of a pastor named F.B. Meyer was set on fire, who later came to an American college campus to preach. Under his preaching a student by the name of Wilbur Chapman was saved. He engaged in YMCA work and employed a former baseball player named Billy Sunday, to do evangelistic work. Billy Sunday held a revival in Charlotte, North Carolina. Because the revival stirred the hearts of many, some 30 business men wanted to devote a day of prayer for Charlotte. In May of 1934 a farmer lent the men some land to use for their prayer meeting. The leader of the business men, Vernon Patterson prayed, "Out of Charlotte the Lord would raise up someone to preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth." The business men then called for another evangelistic meeting asking Mordecai Ham, a fiery Southern evangelist who shattered the complacency of church-going Charlotte. The farmer who lent his land for the prayer meeting was Franklin Graham and his son Billy became a Christian during the meeting.
What do you think? Was this conversion of a North Carolina farmer's son simply "Chance"? I believe that rather than chance, this conversion was God's hand at work in a mighty way. "Do you know how many times the word coincidence (or any other word like it) is used is the Bible? Zero. Not one event in all of Scripture is ever spoken of as having been coincidental.
Consider the people who have touched you and the people you have touched; how have these relationships built the Kingdom?. Think about the events of your life; how have they drawn you closer to a relationship with Christ.
God works in ways that we can not fathom to guide us and grow us into Children of God, not by coincidence or chance, but through His merciful and tender love.

Some Parting Fun....

One day God called Jesus and his helpers into a meeting.
God said that he wanted them to create a data base on heaven's super computer. He said He wanted them to list everyone who had ever been born and all the good and bad things that each had done since the beginning of time.
They all said they could do that and so they sat at their keyboards for hours, then days and weeks.
Finally they were almost done when there was a power failure in heaven and the computers all went off. Only seconds later the lights came back on and all the computers started to re-boot. There was much crying and gnashing of teeth and pounding of keyboards as this happened.
Down at the end of the table sat Jesus with a big smile on His face.
Why was Jesus smiling amongst all this dismay?
