Dear ,
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8 ESV)
We often recite this verse at weddings and tend to have romantic thoughts when thinking about its' application in our lives. While it is great to apply these words of love to those nearest and dearest to us, there is a broader meaning of the verse we should apply. The word used in the original Greek, translated as Love in the English language, is "Agape".
In other words, "Agape is patient and kind; agape does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude." Agape was known very well by early Christians to describe the unconditional, unmerited, self-sacrificing love of God for humanity, which they were committed to reciprocating and practicing towards God and among one another. The Apostle Paul, in his writing, is impressing upon us that we should strive to mirror that love in our relationships with others in these ways; giving rather than getting, commitment regardless of feelings, and staying the course for the long haul.
Agape love is difficult for us because it calls us to love others without expecting anything in return. We are expected to look out for the best interests of others above ourselves, to remain loyal and faithful to their well being even if it means sacrifice on our part, and to keep persevering to lift them up no matter the personal cost. But isn't that how Jesus loves us? He keeps loving (agape) us regardless of our actions, affection, attention, service, failure,......; the list is endless, and continues to do so without end.
Dear God, help us today to love others as you love us. Help us so that when we serve, we do so with agape so that our words and actions are more than resounding gongs or clanging cymbals. Give us your heart so that we may bring your love to all that we meet, in Christ's name we pray. Amen

Follow Me
|
 | In Store or On Line | | Follow Me |
What did Jesus mean when He said,
"Follow Me?"
Scores of men, women, and children have been told that becoming a follower of Jesus simply involves believing certain truths or saying certain words. As a result, churches today are filled with people who believe they are Christians . . . but aren't. We want to be disciples as long as doing so does not intrude on our lifestyles, our preferences, our comforts, and even our religion.
Revealing a biblical picture of what it means to truly be a Christian, Follow Me explores the gravity of what we must forsake in this world, as well as the indescribable joy and deep satisfaction to be found when we live for Christ.
The call to follow Jesus is not simply an invitation to pray a prayer; it's a summons to lose your life-and to find new life in him. This book will show you what such life actually looks like.

Don't Waste Your Life
|
It's easy to slip through life without taking any risks-without making your life count. But life ought not be wasted. You don't need to know a lot of things to make a lasting difference in the world, but you do have to know the few, great, unchanging, and glorious things that matter and be willing to live and to die for them.
John Piper's plea to a generation is, "Don't waste your life!" This book is a passionate call to make your life count for eternity. He acknowledges that there are risks for those who seek to make a lasting difference by faith, yet he believes that they are risks worth taking for the cause of the Gospel.

SPECIAL PRICE
a ONLY $5.99
Heaven is for Real is the true story of the four-year old son of a small town Nebraska pastor who during emergency surgery slips from consciousness and enters heaven. He survives and begins talking about being able to look down and see the doctor operating and his dad praying in the waiting room. The family didn't know what to believe but soon the evidence was clear.
Colton said he met his miscarried sister, whom no one had told him about, and his great grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born, then shared impossible-to-know details about each. He describes the horse that only Jesus could ride, about how "reeeally big" God and his chair are, and how the Holy Spirit "shoots down power" from heaven to help us. Told by the father, but often in Colton's own words, the disarmingly simple message is heaven is a real place, Jesus really loves children, and be ready, there is a coming last battle. True Love
If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it was, and always will be yours. If it never returns, it was never yours to begin with. If it just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your telephone, takes your money, and never behaves as if you actually set it free in the first place, you either married it or gave birth to it!
