And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.
It's hard to imagine that God would want to come live in this place called Earth. Since the fall of Adam, it really hasn't been a very nice place to be. And to think that He came as a baby, born in a stable no less, into a life that had to be difficult to say the least. Yet He did so willingly so that we might be restored into a loving relationship.
There's a verse in "O Holy Night, the Christmas Carol, that really hits home whenever I hear it. The verse is "Long lay the world in sin and error pining, Till he appeared and the soul felt it's worth!"
The Soul Felt It's Worth!
It is important to remember that God came to earth, even in the midst of its sin and error, just for you, just for me. Our Soul's should be bursting from within us as we reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. We should rejoice just as the Angels, shepherds, heavenly host and all creation did on that morning some 2000 years ago when Christ was born. We should worship and adore Him for it is for us, our very Souls, that He humbled himself and gave himself for us. He did it for everyone one of us and would have done it for even one of us.
Take time this next week to Worship and Adore the one who loves us so much that He came, lived among us, and died for each of us so that we might live.
