The Souper Bowl of Caring
Our sincerest gratitude to everyone who came out in support of our Souper Bowl of Caring food drive on Saturday, January 31, 2015.

From the enthusiastic volunteers to the dedicated supporters, it was a great day for our local food pantries.

3,200 pounds of non-perishable items and more than $6,800 was collected at seven different grocery stores throughout the Fox Valley area. An additional $1,053 was donated by Old Second Bank and the Aurora Noon Lions Club for a total of more than $7,800. This year's cash donations will allow these food pantries to purchase more than $63,000 of bulk groceries for local households.

We would also like to thank our committed sponsors, Jewel-Osco and Prisco's Family Market, who were incredibly accommodating and enabled us to fill the shelves at the Aurora Interfaith and Kendall County Food Pantries.  For more information regarding the 2015 event, click here.

Thank You Dunham Fund
Once again, the Fox Valley United Way (FVUW) community has been blessed by the generosity of The Dunham Fund. Their recent grant of $25,000 will support the further development of Volunteer Fox Valley (VFV), the region's first virtual volunteer resource center. A collaboration between FVUW and Aurora University's Wackerlin Center for Faith and Action, VFV is an online portal that links volunteers to social service agencies who need their time and assistance.

The Dunham Fund grant will allow VFV to expand efforts to enroll more agencies and recruit more volunteers. Special focus will be placed on reaching local college and high school students seeking ways to get more involved in their community.
