CELEBRATING 90 YEARS OF CARING
| |

A standing room only crowd of over 400 people joined the Fox Valley United Way at our Annual Recognition Breakfast on May 17th to celebrate donors, volunteers and those whose lives have been changed by their generosity.
A highlight of this year's event was the presentation of the 2012 LIVE UNITED Award to Maryanne Locklin, associate professor of nursing at Aurora University, recognized for her
leadership in the development of the SPARK early learning collaboration. The Strong, Prepared And Ready for Kindergarten Initiative seeks to ensure that all of Aurora's children have equal access to quality Early Childhood Care and Education. Maryanne was the Chair of Fox Valley United Way's Success by 6 Committee that worked on developing the initiative from 2008-2011.
Also honored for their outstanding volunteer efforts were Brian Basilico and Melinda James. Brian was recognized as the Community Volunteer of the Year and Melinda was named the winner of the 2012 Rita Anderson Smith Award.
As we commemorated our 90th anniversary, we also celebrated the many dedicated individual and corporate donors whose contributions make such a difference in the Fox Valley community. You can read more about them here...
