who helped make the Souper Bowl of Caring Food Drive a great success!  Over 2,700 pounds of food and $5,577.00 in cash donations were collected to support the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry and the Kendall County Food Pantry.  Click Here for more information about this year's event.

Fox Valley United Way CEO Michael Meyer presents Marilyn Weisner, Executive Director of the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry, with a check in the amount of $3453.00,  representing the Kane County donations from the 2012 Souper Bowl of Caring food drive.  In addition, $2,124.00 was distributed to the Kendall County Food Pantry from funds raised in Kendall County.  Read More...

CASA Kendall County is a non-profit organization, which advocates for the best interest of abused and neglected children in the Kendall County court system.

Dedicated community volunteers are trained and supported as Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) who serve to protect a child's right to a safe and permanent home.

Advocate.
Recently, Gov. Quinn presented the General Assembly with a $33.9 billion budget for fiscal year 2013, which begins in July. The budget returns general revenue spending to 2008 levels and cuts $425 million in general revenue funding compared with last fiscal year.
 
While there are bright spots for education funding, particularly for the state's Preschool for All program, we remain concerned about cuts to the Department of Human Services and the continued delay in payments for services that nonprofit providers already have rendered.

Volunteer.

Fox Valley Free Tax Assistance Coalition is in need of volunteer tax preparers.  Aurora VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) needs additional workers to provide FREE Income Tax Preparation Assistance to low-income, elderly or disabled individuals and those with limited English-speaking capabilities.

Special thanks to our new campaign partner - YORKVILLE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT #115.  Kudos to Yorkville's Circle Center Grade School for raising $900 for the Fox Valley United Way through their Valentine Care Gram efforts.

Funds will be donated to CASA Kendall County, a Fox Valley United Way funded agency that trains volunteers to advocate for the needs of children in the county court system.
