That makes executive directors Marilyn Weisner (Aurora Interfaith) and Maria Spaeth (Kendall County) co-winners of Fox Valley United Way's LIVE UNITED Award, supreme recognition of the important role they and their agencies play in fighting hunger in the Fox Valley.
Their awards, along with two other major volunteer awards, were announced at our Annual Recognition Breakfast on May 19.
Honored for their outstanding volunteer
efforts were Dorothy Fairbanks and Joel Ottoson. Dorothy was named Community Volunteer of the Year and Joel was named winner of this year's Rita Anderson Smith Award.
