Annual Souper Bowl of Caring

Food Drive set for

Saturday - February 5th

Fox Valley United Way's annual Souper Souper Bowl of CaringBowl of Caring, always the day before football's Super Bowl, comes at an important time for the food pantries:  Donations tend to slack off following the holiday season, but the need remains high, especially this year as so many of our neighbors continue to struggle.

With important support from seven Jewel-Osco stores in Aurora and Kendall County, plus the Montgomery Market Place on Douglas Rd. in Montgomery and Prisco's Finer Foods on Prairie in Aurora, we're hoping for another blow-out victory as we seek to replenish supplies at the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry and the Kendall County Food Pantry in Yorkville.  Click here for a list of participating stores.

Souper Bowl VolunteersOur success will depend on you, your friends and neighbors.  Participation is easy:

Simply purchase a few extra non-perishable items and give them to our on-site Souper Bowl volunteers as you shop in the sponsoring stores on Souper Bowl Saturday.

You may also donate cash - at the store or here online - your $1.00 donation purchases $6.00 worth of food for the pantries!

Volunteers will be at each participating food store from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to accept donations.  Click here for a list of suggested donation items.  Thanks for your help!

Your $1 donation can purchase $6 worth of food for your local food pantry!

The Holiday Spirit

The good feelings live on - because so many people and organizations stepped up to make certain local children (and their families) had a happy holiday.

Fox Valley United Way was one of a dozen area social

Christmas Thank Youservices agencies that combined efforts and brought Christmas cheer to more than 4,300 children and adults who otherwise faced a bleak season.  We specifically helped 204 individuals - but we couldn't have done so without your support.

In particular, we want to recognize:

Wrigley Manufacturing in Yorkville, who adopted 67 children for the holidays - and additionally provided bags of candy as stocking stuffers.

Fox Valley Building and Construction Trades Council, which raised enough money to purchase grocery gift cards that allowed every family to enjoy a holiday meal.  The Council also contributed several boxes of wrapped toys.

The East Aurora High School Hero Club and Waubonsee Community College, who ran a hat, mitten and scarf drive to assure that the kids could stay warm this winter.

ComEd, Hotel Arista and Ginger Creek Community Church, all generously sponsored over 20 children each.

Various City of Aurora employee groups, as well as dozens of individuals and community organizations that made monetary donations to help us support families and children who were not otherwise adopted for the holidays.
