Hershey, PA (May 6, 2013).   The Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Museum would like to welcome a new member to our administrative staff, Michael C. Vojtasko as the Curator for the AACA Museum.

  

Mike has always had an admiration for cars. The love for them started when he was a young boy and received a large scale model of the then, "dream car" Corvette, prior to its introduction as a production vehicle in 1953.  That interest in Corvettes has continued with his ownership of two and has expanded into a variety of muscle cars, sports cars and the classics.   Throughout his life he has owned many different collector and special interests cars including mid-50s Fords and 60s Plymouth "B bodies", a '57 Nash Rambler, several VW Beetles, and several modern day "classics" such as an early Miata, Mid-80s BMW 325i Convertible, and a 1970 Mercury Capri.

  

Mike has come to the AACA Museum from an extensive and honorable military career where he spent almost 25 years serving our country.    While on active duty he attended graduate school at the George Washington University, Washington, DC where he received a MA in Health Services Administration.   After retiring as a Colonel from military service, he went on to working for the Department of Veterans affairs as the director of the Emergency Management Office for the Veterans Health Administration.   After his retirement in 2010, he began to volunteer at the Museum in 2011 where he has led a highly effective effort to review and update the inventory of the Museum's vehicle collection.

  

Mike currently resides in Shepherdstown, West Virginia with his wife and family but commutes to the AACA Museum several days each week.   Mike has five children and nine grandchildren . . . so far.   The first exhibit Mike has curated at the AACA Museum is the upcoming Pop Culture & Cars exhibit scheduled to open on May 17th.

  

The Antique Automobile Club of America Museum, a member of the Smithsonian Institution Affiliations Program, displays beautifully restored automobiles, buses and motorcycles in unique life-like scenes representing the 1900's - 1980's in a cross-country journey from New York to San Francisco.   The AACA Museum, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, is celebrating 10 years as one of the nation's largest automotive museums.  Special exhibits change several times a year and focus on a variety of eras and types of vehicles.  The AACA Museum is located just off Route 39, one mile west of Hersheypark Drive in Hershey, Pennsylvania.  Regular admission $10, seniors age 61 and older $9, juniors age 4-12 $7, children age 3 and under are FREE.  To celebrate our 10th Anniversary, Admission will be just $10 for two guests every Tuesday through 2013.  The Museum is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and select evening hours during the summer months.   For further information, please call 717-566-7100 or visit www.AACAMuseum.org.
