Thank You Friends. . . | |
Thank you to Lois Koepke and her extended family for again naming Mercy Health Foundation as a recipient of proceeds from their annual Bill Koepke Memorial Golf Tournament. This year, 98 golfers participated in this 27th annual tribute to Bill. Since 2004, the Koepke family has contributed $21,800 for cancer care services at Mercy Medical Center.

Knights of Columbus members (L-R) Irma Christian, Geri Gagnon, Peggy Weber, Paula Snyder and Tony Weber present a check to Tracy Goggans, manager of cancer services at Mercy. In the back are Janet Pavelack and Lynn Kleman of the Foundation. |
Special thanks also goes out to the Knights of Columbus, Winneconne Council #8810 for its recent, first-time gift to the Foundation for cancer services. The organization raised the funds through food booth sales during monthly Bingo at the Lions Club in Red Granite. Members wanted to be sure that their gift would help local cancer patients.
Nearly everyone has a family member or knows someone who has been touched by cancer. We are grateful that so many in our communities have been moved to individually or as a group or organization to help Mercy Medical Center provide the very best cancer care close to home. All who have made a gift to Mercy Health Foundation's MercyStrong Cancer Project to help update treatment technology and enhance patient support services will be recognized on a special art glass donor recognition piece in the Michael D. Wachtel Cancer Center. |

Become a Signature Society Member! |
Mercy Health Foundation recently received the first installment of a generous planned gift from a long-time Oshkosh resident. This special person has done a wonderful thing for the health of the community, but we can only thank the attorneys, not her. The donor did not notify the Foundation about the bequest prior to her death. The opportunity was missed to discuss how she would like to be recognized or her specific health interests and to express our gratitute in person.
If you are considering an estate gift, let us recognize you today for your future gift. Donors who have made a commitment to our mission through their estate are eligible for membership in the Mercy Health Foundation Signature Society. Friends who join the Signature Society between now and August 31, 2013 will be invited to participate in a signing ceremony at our September 26, 2013 Friends for Life donor recognition event at The Waters, Oshkosh, and to a luncheon with Bill Calhoun, president of Mercy Medical Center, on September 27, 2013 at Mercy. Other benefits of Signature Society membership include:
- Commemorative pen
- Optional recognition on the Mercy Health Foundation Donor Wall
- Optional Health Care Hero award for an irrevocable estate gift of $50,000 or more
-
A one-hour complimentary session by a licensed professional on personal charitable estate planning - Invitation to Foundation sponsored financial and estate planning workshops
If you have already included Mercy Health Foundation in your estate plan, please let us know so you can start receiving the benefits of Signature Society membership. For information on options for making a legacy gift to the Foundation, visit our website at www.mmcgift.org or contact Lynn Kleman at lkleman@affinityhealth.org or 920-223-0520.

| Watch for the Dragon! | |

We are grateful to a long-time Mercy Health Foundation donor for making it possible for us to offer a free public showing of the documentary Awaken the Dragon. This is a beautifully done film that follows a team of cancer survivors as they train for and compete in a dragon boat race, not unlike the one held in Oshkosh each fall. Watch for more details! |
