State Budget Conferees are Selected - Reach out Now
re: Medi-Cal Cuts
The Assembly and Senate have chosen the members who will serve on the Budget Conference Committee. This Committee will resolve the differences between the budget version adopted by each House and provide a final budget version that will be adopted and sent to the Governor. The conferees are:
Senate
- Sen. Mark Leno (D)-San Francisco
- Sen. Lonnie Hancock (D)-Oakland
- Sen. Ricardo Lara (D)-Bell Gardens
- Sen. Jim Nielsen (R)-Chico, Roseville, Yuba City
Assembly
- Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner (D)- Berkeley - (she will chair the Conference Committee)
- Assemblyman Richard Bloom (D)- Santa Monica
- Assemblywoman Shirley Webber (D)- San Diego
- Assemblyman Jeff Gorrell (R)- Camarillo
The Conference Committee will meet over the next two weeks and likely adopt a final budget document to send to the Governor by the June 15 deadline.
Contact these members and urge that they adopt the Assembly version of the Medi-Cal provider rate changes that would eliminate retroactive claw back of the 10% to June 1, 2011 for all providers and eliminate the 10% provider rate reduction that was implemented for DME in October and medical supplies in February. The Senate version only eliminates the 10% cut on a prospective basis. We have provided a link that will provide contact information for each of these members.

Medi-Cal Managed Care Plan - Alameda Alliance For Health - Placed under Conservatorship
On May 6th the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) placed the plan under conservatorship based on financial solvency issues and problems with their new claims system. Here is a link to a letter from the Alliance that contains additional information .
