Advanced Industries Accelerator Grant Program Solicitation Open July 1 - Close August 31 COEDIT will announce new program updates when the solicitation opens July 1 for Early Stage Capital and Retention Grants and Proof of Concept Grants.
 Early Stage Capital and Retention grants fund companies commercializing innovative technologies to create viable products that meet a market need and can be created or manufactured in Colorado and exported globally. Grants up to $250,000 will be awarded. Proof of Concept grants are open to Colorado research universities, federal labs located in Colorado, and other labs with valid technology transfer offices. These grants are for pre-commercialization research and commercialization preparation. Grants up to $150,000 will be awarded.  Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program Reauthorization Attached to DOD Policy Bill   SBIR advocates seek early reauthorization and an increase in the percentage of set-aside while others protest any change that reduces funding for research. The full Senate is expected to take up the DOD bill later this month. It is estimated that companies in the Colorado photonics community have received about 900 awards and more than $270 million from SBIR grants since its inception in the early 1980s.
