MEMBER JOB OPENING

The Precision Laser Diagnostics Laboratory at the University of Colorado-Boulder, together with collaborators from JILA and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), is developing a frequency comb laser absorption spectrometer for trace gas sensing in the atmosphere. The team is looking for a postdoc to join this collaborative effort in the area of cavity-enhanced spectrometer development and deployment. See details.

OEDIT Announces Advanced Industry Grants
The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced grantees for the Advanced Industry Accelerator Grant Program. A total of $2,420,319 will be awarded for the Proof-of-Concept & Early Stage Capital and Retention Grants to support Colorado's advanced industries. The next application cycle for Early-Stage Capital and Retention & Proof of Concept Grants will open Sept. 25, 2015. Applications will be due on Nov. 2, 2015.

University of Colorado and SRC Research Associates Accelerate Microscopic imaging for Next-Generation Nanoelectronics

University of Colorado researchers sponsored by Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) have developed new microscopic imaging techniques to help advance next-generation nanotechnology in applications ranging from data storage to medicine.
 

America Competes Act Reauthorization

HR 1806 passed the House in May and is currently in the Senate, Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. The reauthorization bill lays the basis for sustained funding increases in science, engineering, and technology resources for three key agencies: the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Science, and the Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
