Contribute your ideas and requirements for technician training to the program under development by REO for companies on the Colorado front range. Then learn about REO technologies and tour their facilities.
Please register in advance to clear REO security. Photo ID required at check in. Foreign nationals are welcome to attend the program and may be permitted on the tour at REO discretion.

Murnane elected to the American Philosophical Society

Dr. Margaret Murnane, co-founder/President of the Board at Kapteyn-Murnane Labs (KM Labs), receives another well-deserved honor. She is Distinguished Professor of Physics and ECE, and a fellow of JILA, a joint NIST/University institute at the University of Colorado at Boulder. In May, Murnane was elected to the American Philosophical Society.

Calling for Photonics Engineers

Volunteer to Keep Occupational Data Accurate 

Participate in an on-line Survey at Dept. of Labor

 

The O*NET Data Collection Program, which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, is seeking the input of expert Photonics Engineers. As the nation's most comprehensive source of occupational data, O*NET is a free resource for millions of job seekers, employers, veterans, educators, and students.

 

We encourage you to participate in this important initiative as it will help ensure that the complexities of your profession are described accurately in the O*NET Database.  

 

Criteria for Participation:

 

Photonics Engineers:

Design technologies specializing in light information or light energy, such as laser or fiber optics technology. 

 

Occupation Expert:

  • At least 5 years of experience with the occupation. Includes those who are now supervising, teaching, or training IF you have at least one year of practice during your career.
  • Currently active in the occupation (practicing, supervising, teaching and/or training) and based in the U.S.

If you meet these criteria and are interested in participating as an occupation expert, please email or call Jim Rose, O*Net Operations Center at RTI International, 877-233-7348 ext. 121
and provide the following:
  • Name/ # years of experience
  • Address with city / state and zip
  • Daytime phone number
  • Email address

Process and Participation Incentive: 

 

A random sample of experts responding to this request will be invited to complete a set of questionnaires (paper or online versions available). $40.00 in cash and a certificate of appreciation from the U.S. Department of Labor will be included with the questionnaires. Thank you for offering your expertise!
