"The Photonics Marketplace: a global industry profile"
The field of photonics is thriving. In a unique supply-side review of the world's photonics business, Stephen Anderson of SPIE describes recent work at SPIE to understand and measure the core photonics components industry that drives this thriving field and to present the results using the language of politicians and economists: revenues and jobs. This analysis is one of many SPIE activities aimed at promoting and advocating for photonics. Anderson will also offer a perspective on certain enabled markets as well as updates on other relevant endeavors, including recent successes of the National Photonics Initiative in the USA and, on a broader front, the global celebration of the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies in 2015. All attendees receive a complimentary book on the IYL2015.
