Colorado Photonics Industry Association
Presents a rare opportunity to visit the
Precision Measurement Laboratory at NIST

Meeting Date:
Thursday
February 26
3:00 - 6:00 pm
About NIST Precision Measurement Laboratory

The Precision Measurement Laboratory (PML) at NIST is one of the most advanced facilities in the world for research at the frontiers of measurement science

including the frontiers of photonics. The PML building meets rigorous requirements for temperature and humidity control, air cleanliness, vibration stability, and electrical power quality. This performance enables the sophisticated measurements and metrology device development needed by U.S. industry and the scientific community in national priority areas, including nanotechnology, communications, security, health care, and emerging technologies such as quantum computing.

Photonics-related research in the PML and other laboratories at NIST will be highlighted in this event. Examples include comprehensive laser metrology for communications, laser materials processing, and safety; ultraprecise optical frequency combs for timekeeping, greenhouse gas monitoring, and remote imaging; single photon detectors for quantum information science, advanced biological imaging, and as a quantum foundation for optical power metrology; and ultrasensitive detector arrays across the electromagnetic spectrum for material science and astronomical research.

Don't Miss This One!! On-Line Registration Now Open

NOTE: Advanced Registration Required NO LATER THAN February 20
