Technical Short Course on Optical Adhesives
January 22, 2015
8:00 am to 1:00 pm with light breakfast and lunch provided.   

 

Almost every Photonics company uses adhesives and this is a chance to be exposed to the latest developments and NTT's products in particular. 


Instruction will include: 

  • Recent optical adhesive developments including applications and future trends
  • NTT developments on high performance and high long--term reliability
  • UV curable adhesives
  • Adhesive high temperature resistance and adjustable refractive index
  • New field applications of optoelectronic hybrid implementations including Silicon photonics
  • Applications discussion

Instructors:

 

Mr. Yutaka Murakoshi has been engaged in adhesive engineering for over 15 years since NTT Advanced Technology started adhesive business for photonics based on company R&D. Mr. Murakoshi was involved in developing adhesives for MT connectors for high speed cable assemblies and has become an adhesives expert in the field of photonics.

 

Mr. Tadashi Miyashita is current sales representative of NTT-ATT in North America region. Mr. Miyashita has been involved in development and manufacturing of passive optical components for telecommunication systems for more than 30 years. He is now  president of PLC Connections, engaging in fiber coupling in Si-Photonics. He served as VP, general manager at JDS Uniphase, president of SDL-PIRI and Photonic Integration Research. Prior to these, he was staff engineer and section manager of NTT laboratories in Japan. Throughout his career, adhesive has been one of his major concerns. 

CPIA courses are designed to help optics and photonics companies train employees and increase productivity.
