Summer greetings!
|
Summer is moving far too quickly this year. I have a number of projects in development and want to share a bit about them with you.
Our brand new course on Bereavement Care for Hospice Volunteers is well underway and will be available by mid August. It will be hosted through our new Training System Portal and will include an on-line competency quiz & printable certificate for the learner. Plus, the Volunteer Coordinator will be able to access the Portal, run reports and view information about their Volunteer's status!
We are excited about these new features & plan to also make them available for our current New Volunteer Orientation. This new Learning System Format with on-line competencies will NOT replace the current Portal/Workbook Pair, but will be an additional option.
Whichever format you choose for New Volunteer Orientation - the content is the same - meaning you have great flexibility to structure your training for various demographics.
------------------------------
Periodically we like to share some thoughts, ideas or ways that Volunteer Coordinators use our Training Series. We are pleased that Catrinka from North Hawaii Hospice chose our Training & sent the following comment, which she graciously allowed us to share.
"I just wanted to let you know how wonderful it is to be able to get new volunteers started right away with your program. We call it the Self-Directed portion of our training and are following it up 3-4 times a year with an 8-hour component called the In-House Training that includes getting to know our staff, paperwork & policies specific to our Hospice, and interactive exercises (grief & loss inventory, etc.) in small and larger groups to develop relationship and camaraderie with other volunteers and staff.
Our staff likes your training program so well they asked me to see if you have one for Hospice Aides and/or Hospice nurses?
At the very least, we will use parts of your dvd to help in the training process with our new staff."
Catrinka, Volunteer Services Coordinator North Hawaii Hospice
In response to Catrinka's question: Many of our Hospice clients use portions of the Training to orient new staff & contractors to Hospice. So, while we do not currently offer a specific track for roles beyond the volunteer, much of our content can be incorporated into your training tracks for other staff members and contractors.

New Course for Bereavement Care Volunteers!
Many of you have requested an advanced Training segment for
Bereavement Volunteers. I am excited to announce that we will be introducing this new course in mid August. Our Order Form has been updated to include this new course. New Volunteer Review edition will be released about the end of August/first of September - in time for those programs that like to use the Review in autumn. If your last Review was green, the magenta one is currently available for you. We print a limited number of each edition, so please don't delay, get your orders in for the magenta edition, before they are all gone. If you've already used the magenta edition, the upcoming release will be next in line for your program.
Please plan ahead - especially if you like to order LOGO Workbooks.
Most of the time Logo Workbooks will ship in about 3-5 business days, but they can occasionally take as long as 7 business days before shipping. We will confirm the turn around time when you order LOGO Workbooks, so you can decide whether to continue with the LOGO or have us ship plain cover Workbooks. Non-logo Workbooks & other materials generally ship within 24-48 hours after receiving your order.
