In the past few years we have all heard the mounting criticism that America's parks and attractions have gift shops overflowing with foreign-made goods. These places have heard the cry for more "Made in America", but what happens when they go to shows and can't find our goods?
One show (with two venues) is responding: The International Gift Exposition and The Souvenir Super Show located in the beautiful Tennessee mountains. This early November show has asked our help in finding Made in America souvenirs and Handcrafted items.
Celebrating 15 successful years of growth in the Smokies, this event is now the largest wholesale, order-writing only trade show in the nation catering to the resort, gift and souvenir industries. Buyers come from zoos, aquariums, state and national parks, resorts, and museums of all kinds.
New this year, IGES will be highlighting American Made Souvenirs and Handcrafted items throughout both show locations with special recognition given in a grouping of these exhibits in a "Made in America and Handcrafted Section" in the Sevierville, Tennessee Convention Center.
THERE IS SPECIAL PRICING FOR MADE-IN-AMERICA EXHIBITORS! All exhibitors in the IGES American Made and Handcrafted sections will be given a 20% discount off of standard booth prices. The net cost for a 10' x 10' booth, for example, after this discount, will be $1,600.00. IGES will also give back 10% of the purchase price of all booths purchased by CRAFT and ACW members to American Craft Week.
Complimentary booth furnishings include booth carpeting, unlimited draped tables in your choice of drape colors, plus standard booth furnishings such as a chair, wastebasket and booth signage. Also, booths can be shared by multiple artists and companies.
You can learn more at www.iges.us or feel free to contact dianesulg@aol.com with questions. Both IGES and SSS are proud sponsors of American Craft Week.
P.S. Feel free to pass this on to anyone you think might be interested!
