Christmas Shppping
If Thanksgiving is near; the holiday madness is upon us.  The Board of CRAFT wishes you all a fabulous season.  Whatever the craft version of "break a leg" is, we are sending it to you.

Sell lots, buy lots and have a great time doing it.

We Need a Great Idea
The Networking Committee is talking about handing out some kind of give away at the CRAFT booth during ACRE and BMAC. Something that could have the name CRAFT on it, web site and maybe a tag line.   We think it should NOT be made in China, be catchy so it won't get tossed,  inexpensive and intriguing. Something to attach to a badge holder??  Something we could make?  Something that will remind people to stop back at the booth and sign up for CRAFT.  Does this sound like an impossible quest?  We hope not.  We know that in an organization of talented, creative people there will be more than one bright idea.  Can you help us out?  Just hit reply.

Show News
The Networking Committee is meeting to plan networking opportunities at the three ACRE and BMAC shows in 2013. We'd love to hear your ideas.  We'd love to have you join the committee. Just hit reply.

Sandy may have done her thing but the CRAFT members working with GLM on the artisan program  at NYIGF are still hard at work striving to boost artist sales at the January show.   We've completed developing the criteria for being designated as an American handmade artist; written materials to explain to artists why they should participate and to convince commercial buyers why carrying American handmade will benefit them; and created a logo for use in the show directory and on booth signs.  Next is to write the blog that will go out to NYIGF buyers.  Phew!  We're excited about the prospect of building sales for the artists and we're working hard to make sure it happens.

Craft In America New episode of Craft in America: CROSSROADS premieres on PBS, Friday, November 16, 2012

Crossroads explores the intersections of craft, culture, and technology.  How do borders and personal crossroads affect an artist? How do science and craft interact? How do other cultures influence American style and technique?
