LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear ,

HELP WANTED!

It's that time of year again. No, not the holidays. Well, it is the holidays, but it's also the time of year that we revamp our MCA Board of Directors. That's where you come in .... we are looking for MCA members who want to take their media communications career to the next level and join our local MCA board.

Being on the board is voluntary (in other words, no pay). However, it's a great way to become connected
to the industry and build your network of industry contacts ... and advance your career. We strive to have
a good mixture of media industry professionals on our board: old and young, crew and talent, academics,
freelancers, corporate members, newcomers, and crazy, creative types.

The MCA has always had a vibrant BOD, and the reason for that is that we have always welcomed and encouraged new board members. If you have been coming to meetings fairly regularly, and you like what we're doing (or maybe you don't like what we're doing -- and see
ways to improve it), then we welcome you to our board. We usually meet about once-a-month and try to pick a time that suits everyone's schedule. We have a large enough board that we can share the duties, with no one person feeling overburdened or burnt out.

Being a board member can boost your career. We have had several MCA-I board members that have gone on to become president of MCA-International. In fact, Jennifer Salci, who is currently the vice president of our local chapter, will be international president of MCA-I next year. The St. Louis chapter is known throughout the international organization as one of the most active and successful MCA-I chapters in the world.

If you'd like to be on the board -- or you have questions -- please feel free to contact me at michael_ketcher@yahoo.com, or any of our other board members listed in this newsletter, and we'll fill you in on the details.

Here's wishing you a Happy Holidays and a Prosperous New Year from the St. Louis Chapter of the MCA-i!!
