Never Too Old (or Ailing) To Celebrate Life

Help Animals in Need through the

Healing Power of Compassion

The Opportunity: FOSPICE-a blend of foster and hospice--is our innovative and groundbreaking program that allows animals who are not suffering--yet who are near the end of their lives--to experience warmth, love and compassion during this precious time. It's another chance for them to receive love, and you to give it.

The Details: Animals with non-contagious, life-limiting conditions are carefully placed in loving homes with 'permanent' foster parents. As a foster parent, you share your love, nurturing and affection with these animals during their final days.

Sonoma Humane Society provides all the medical care, prescription food and costs associated with their care.

Fospice is a natural evolution of our dedication to ensuring that all animals receive the love,
medical care and compassion they deserve.

We are Urgently Seeking Fospice for the Following Cats

CHANDLER

13-year old Chandler is a shy, fluffy Snowshoe mix with a heart murmur. Purring quietly throughout the day, Chandler's peaceful, content nature belies the early stages of kidney disease and hyperthyroidism his body is experiencing. Once Chandler gets to know you, he'll purr even louder, stay close by you in your daily activities and patiently await your returns.

HUGO

12-year old Hugo is a big, handsome, affectionate seal-point Siamese with a luxurious coat and a special diet. His hyperthyroid condition requires regular vet visits, but he's a trooper and has become fond of our medical team.   A kitten at heart, Hugo loves playing with toys and sitting in your lap-he still bats a good swing at little things that skitter across the floor!

SEYMOUR

A big black puffball with a loud purr and meow, Seymour loves to talk ...and listen. He's in your court the moment mutual affection takes hold-and you can count on Seymour to cheer you on with his unique 'rah rah' meow. At 13, he brings a sensitive maturity to his hyperthyroid condition and you'll see him eating and drinking water in a big way. For Seymour, happiness = his special diet and your love.

SHEBUGI

We think it's Shebugi's somewhat tough, street-savvy temperament coupled with a charming sweetness that's won her the 'Loudest Meow Contest' 15 years in a row. Early kidney failure and a sensitive stomach is now a part of Shebugi's world and she's adapted very well to her special diet and vet visits. She loves exploring the world-with you in it, of course-and would love to share her affection!

ENZO

Enzo's noble soul will leave paw prints on your heart. Like others before him, this sweet, affectionate 11-year old golden tabby is a peacemaker deep down. Enzo's progressive kidney failure requires a special diet and regular vet visits, yet his tatty ear, scuffed head and perceptive endearing eyes reveal the true nature of his bravery and valiance.
