The mission of The Episcopal School of Knoxville is to prepare students for higher education and a lifetime of learning within the context of a loving, inclusive and family-centered community. Your purchases will be shipped directly to ESK, where we are happy to hold on to them until the holidays. Follow the link or get to it from the ESK homepage.

Vote for Educator of the Month

As many of you know our lower school gym teacher, Pansie Evans, was nominated for Educator of the Week through a program sponsored by the Tennessee Lottery. After being nominated for Educator of the Week, Mrs. Evans has the chance to become Educator of the Month. Her winning is now dependent on our voting for her as an ESK family. Please go to: www.seehowitaddsup.com/educator/, find Mrs. Evans' picture and click on the word "vote." You may vote once a day for the entire month of November and you may vote from each device you have--laptop, tablet, smart phone, etc. If all of us vote once a day we have a good chance of having an Educator of the Month right here at ESK!

Annual Fund

Our annual fund campaign is in full swing at ESK! We are striving for 100% parent participation this year. If you would like to make your gift today, please visit our secure online giving site. ESK has been dialing for dollars for the annual fund in November. If you have any questions, please contact Ryan Sparks, Director of Development, at sparks@esknoxville.org or 865-218-4462.

Snow Closing Policy

If we experience rough winter weather, please remember our snow closing policy. We do not follow the public schools' snow day schedule. Based on hazardous road conditions, we may be closed for the day or may open late. School closings or late opening announcements will be made via our Parent Alert text, Twitter alerts and voice mail system as well as on local radio and television stations by 7:00 a.m. If road conditions deteriorate later, the school may announce that it is closed for the entire day. Therefore, it is important to keep listening for updates. Parents can contact Susan Denton (denton@esknoxville.org) if they wish to be added to the text alerts.

Vienna Coffee Fundraiser

The ESK Parents' Association launched its annual fundraiser last week. This year, the PA is joining with Vienna Coffee to create a simple stream of monthly revenue for the ESK PA and, at the same time, show support of a local coffeehouse!

Here's how it works:

Eighty percent of the parents at ESK drink at least 1-2 cups of coffee each day. Why not have those coffee drinking habits help support our school and our students! Instead of buying coffee from the local grocery or Starbucks, you can now buy the highest quality coffee from www.viennacoffeeco.com and $3.00 from every bag of coffee purchased will be given back to the school. If you, your spouse, or your company, are coffee drinkers, this is a great opportunity to buy coffee AND SUPPORT ESK.

Go to www.viennacoffeeco.com and support ESK PA today! Click here for video with step-by-step directions for ordering. If you have any questions, please contact PA President Katherine Fielden at kikifielden@gmail.com.

Spamalot

Several ESK graduates had roles in Webb School of Knoxville's production of Spamalot over the weekend. Graduates included Mary McGarr, Christoph Ewing, Erin Wallace, Uma Sood, Ellis Whinery and Kate Schumaker. Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical, SPAMALOT, a musical comedy, "lovingly ripped off from the motion picture Monty Python and The Holy Grail," is the irreverent parody of the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table in their quest for the Holy Grail. Great work!
