Packet Pick Up: Friday March 15, 2013
Final Mile Finishers Join us at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on Friday March 15 between 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm to pick up your race number, t-shirt, goody bag, and surprise item from us at Shamrock! All Operation Smile Final Mile participants MUST pick up their race packets during these hours.

If you are unable to pick up your child's race packet, you may authorize another adult to pick up your child's packet instead. The authorized individual (adult) MUST have his/her own photo ID, a signed and printed authorization form (provided by parent/guardian) and a copy of the child's parent/guardians ID. The signed authorization form must be printed and brought to the expo. The copy of the parent/guardian's ID can be on a text, email, or photocopy. Sorry, NO EXCEPTIONS. Click here for an authorization form.

Race Day: Saturday March 16, 2013
Final Mile Join us BEFORE the start of the Shamrock Operation Smile Final Mile for a pre-race party in 31st Street Park (next to the Hilton Hotel).  Leprechaun Bob will host as we announce the top 3 school winners, hear from Operation Smile, and have the Silly Shamrock Contest! The party starts at 10:10 am and will finish by 10:40 am. The schools/students proceed from there to their start corrals on Atlantic Avenue. (The pre-race party is optional, but we strongly encourage parents and kids to join us as we kick off the morning of your final mile!)
Race Start: 31st Street and Atlantic Avenue
With over 4,750 final mile participants, the start is divided into 6 corrals, each starting 10 minutes apart. There will be entertainment and a live band between each corral start. Students are divided into corrals based on their schools. Click here to view your child's start corral. If your child's school is NOT listed, they are automatically part of Corral 2. Corral 1 is Red, Corral 2 is Green, Corral 3 is Blue, Corral 4 is Silver, Corral 5 is Yellow, and Corral 6 is Orange. Your child's bib number will match the color of their start corral. Just look for the color coded flag at the start line to know where you should be for the start. Please see below for the exact start times for each corral.Click here to view the start and race course.
(Keep in mind that we still encourage you to arrive EARLY! While your school/child may not start until the later corrals, we still encourage you to arrive around 10:00-10:30 am to ensure you find parking and get to the start line on time. Click here for a parking map.)

Corral 1 -- 11:00 am
Corral 2 -- 11:10 am
Corral 3 -- 11:20 am
Corral 4 -- 11:30 am
Corral 5 -- 11:40 am
Corral 6 -- 11:50 am
Finish Line Corral: 27th - 28th Streets
The final mile finishes on the boardwalk at 31st street. The kids receive their medal and water in the finish line chute. They will be funneled onto the beach at 28th street into a large finish line corral. No child is able to leave the corral without a parent/guardian. We will have plenty of Shamrock Staff members, Virginia Beach Police, Virginia Beach Sheriffs, and Event Staffing personnel present for safety located at every entrance, exit, and throughout the corral. Click here to view the finish line map. As you can see, we have ENTER ONLY areas and EXIT ONLY areas. Parents and teachers can enter the corral at 27th Street ONLY. Please take note that this is the only entrance to the corral for safety purposes. There are three exit areas where parents/guardians can leave the corral. I STRONGLY encourage you to talk with your child about a meeting location inside the corral. The same color coded flags that will be present at the start line will also be present inside the corral. All the kids need to do is find the color flag that matches their bib number. (Note: large school groups may make their own plans on where to meet inside the corral by using banners, flags, etc of their own. Talk with your child's P.E. teacher regarding this information.)
