My music and spirituality are forever joined at the hip. For one, my work studio is a church where I go to write and sing everyday. I love everything about working in this church...the energy, the acoustics, the silence, the sun pouring through the big windows, the connection I feel to myself. When I take my art out to the real world it ain't easy. Sometimes my ego often feels small, unimportant and frustrated. But when I go back to the church there's something so powerful that happens to me.  I have full permission to be who I am, no holding back, no judgment, no fear!  When I sing into this big empty space, ironically I feel so affirmed and embraced. I FEEL LIKE A STAR!  I think that we're all supposed to feel like STARS because that's what all of us truly are if we can move away from the ego and let our spirits shine. So I move forward as a Star and hope that you do too!

My unique style of teaching combines Songwriting and Self Development.... the craft of songwriting as well as embracing your own unique voice, breaking through fears, being yourself in front of the world....all the important stuff!

WRITING WORKSHOP/WRITE A SONG WORKSHOP   

Want to spice up your writing assignments? Want your students to become better writers?  Have them write lyrics to a song! A song is a highly efficient and organized piece of writing. Learn the different sections of a song and their function.   Learn how to pair down big ideas into 4-6 lines!  Every word counts!  Deliver the punch with metaphors, similes, images, power verbs, lots of descriptive adjectives, and a catchy hook to pull it all together.  This is incredibly challenging and tons of FUN! Want to take it further? Linda will set your lyrics to music. Lots of performance options:  Linda can perform it. Perform it as a class. Perform it at an assembly.  Record it for posterity!
