Dear Katchkie Farm CSA Members,

How is it that we are somehow in the last week of October? This time last year we were gearing up for our final deliveries in full Halloween garb, but this year's season will take us well into November - a first for Katchkie Farm. This will mean shares full of sweet winter squash, plenty of hearty greens, and onions to hoard into the much colder months. Season extension is every farmer's dream, and we're excited to keep bringing you produce as long as we can! We also busy preserving the season's harvest for Great Performances, turning frozen yellow tomatoes into a gorgeous golden puree for soups and transforming cabbage into sauerkraut and kimchi.
The recent rain has turned our farm bright green again! It's hard to believe we're headed toward winter.
We've had some gorgeous but frosty fall days lately. We navigate harvest around clumsy gloved fingers, and spend as much time in the greenhouses as possible. We have fewer vegetables growing, but the farm is still completely beautiful and full of color.

The Sylvia Center just hosted its last week of fall programs on the farm. The above group of students from the Garden Club at Germantown Central School has visited every other week since June to watch the farm flourish and shift through the season. We're sad to see them go -- though our sheep are pleased that this means more quince snacks for them...

All season long we've hauled, cleaned, chopped, prepped, cooked, and eaten 
vegetables. Time to celebrate the end of the season and show off our chops at the Katchkie Farm End of CSA Season Shindig.

We'll have a few dishes and libations to go around, but please bring a dish to share. That's right, this party is a potluck! Beer and wine will be provided by Great Performances.

We can't wait to taste what you've been creating in your kitchens all season!
