What MAY be in your share this week:
(you can click on each vegetable to learn more!)
Dear Katchkie Farm CSA Members,

Is your refrigerator's crisper overrun with more summer squash and beets than you know what to do with? Are you tired of making vegetable stock every last scrap of produce so nothing goes to waste? Have you finally come to the conclusion that, no matter how hard you try, some vegetables just don't belong in a smoothie?

Well, us too.

That's why this summer we have turned to composting to eliminate waste and return nutrients back to the soil. Luckily for us, the kind folks at NYC.gov have created a composting program that allows individuals to bring household scraps to their local farmers market to be turned into compost. This compost is then distributed throughout the five boroughs and surrounding areas to be used on small farms as vital natural fertilizer. For more information about composting and your local drop-off site check out this website.
Come Visit Us at the Greenmarket!

We'll be at the Rockefeller Center Greenmarket every Friday until the end of August from 8 AM - 5 PM! You can stock up on Katchkie Farm produce, artisanal products, sandwiches, beet chips, and tea.
