This thin and rugged Durabook S15AB notebook is powered by an Intel Core i5-5200U 2.2GHz processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM (expandable to 16GB), and a 500GB shock-mounted hard disk drive. The Durabook S15AB semi-rugged notebook targets manufacturing, government, and mobile workforce environments.
The Durabook S15AB has been MIL STD-810G certified, the notebook is designed to withstand 26 drops of up to 2.5 feet and four drops on its face of up to 4 feet on concrete floors, all thanks to its magnesium alloy case which is 20 times stronger than ABS plastic used on non-rugged laptops. This rugged laptop is also equipped with a spill-proof keyboard to avoid any accidental liquid damage while working. Battery operating time is 8.5 hours, perfect for mobile workers in the field.
The Durabook S15AB notebook features an integrated 2MP web camera with microphone; a capacitive touch pad with L/R buttons to support multi-finger tracking and gestures; a built-in SD card reader and supports SDXC cards; and a Smart Card reader that allows the card to be fully inserted. An assortment of wireless communications methods keeps S15AB rugged notebook users in touch with the world. These include 1GB integrated Ethernet, Intel dual-band wireless AC 7265, and an optional integrated M2 module for WWAN/GPS, and antenna support for bands of Gobi 3000 and LTE. The S15AB offers a variety of security systems: TPM 2.0 module data protection, a Kensington lock connector, and administrator and boot password control. It is also Computrace ready in case the notebook is ever stolen.
