As 2015 Comes To A End........
We would like to thank all of our supporters and donors for helping to make 2015 such a success. Because of you, we were able to:
1) increase our parental support by over 50% since July 1, 2015;
2) establish a technology fund, which has raised YTD $34.471.50. We have been able to purchase 60 iPads (for $34,440) to help ensure every teacher has an iPad to assist with classroom instruction starting in January, 2016. Any additional proceeds to this fund will be used to purchase iPads to be used as loaners for students during school hours ;
3) provide Naviance training for our counselors and admin, which has benefitted all students. Proceeds from our Survival Kit income will be used to send a counselor to an additional training session in Arizona in June, 2016;
4) improve communication between parents and administration by hosting quarterly coffees where parental questions and concerns are addressed; and,
5) expand our Health & Wellness initiatives by providing students with free mini hand sanitizers. In addition, 4-packs of Clorox wipes were distributed to all classrooms to help with the "Disinfect the Desk" program beginning in January, 2016 (desks and classroom surfaces are cleaned with the wipes twice a week to reduce illness and absenteeism). We also were able to make our antioxidant, gluten-free smoothies for the students in December to help give them a quick bolt of vitamins and protein.
