"Say 'YES!' To An iPad In Every Classroom" Campaign Update

We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed to the "Say 'YES!' To An iPad in Every Classroom" campaign.

Although the campaign has reached its end date, please know that further contributions will continue to make a positive impact. An additional $30 contribution from 236 families will help provide 3 iPads for the Fine Arts department (Chorus and Art), as well as 10 iPads for Special Education.  Any extra proceeds will be used to purchase loaner iPads for students and teachers to use for testing and/or special assignments/classwork.

Importantly, participation in the iPad campaign, coupled with support for class size reduction and other Foundation initiatives, has helped us make progress towards our goal to increase our participation rate within the Walton community.  The Foundation intends to visit local businesses and corporate offices around Metro ATL this fall to solicit funds to help provide state-of-the art equipment in our science labs and auditorium in the new building, as well as to improve the technology and connectivity in the existing facility.  Given the significant expense of these items, the support of the local business community will be imperative.

One of the first questions businesses ask when solicited for corporate grants and/or funds is the participation rate of the school community.  Corporations are more inclined to work with schools that enjoy a high level of support from their own families.  If you have not yet had an opportunity to make your contribution to your chosen Foundation effort, please click here and scroll down to the A La Carte Section after completing the Information Section.

Thank you for your support.  By working together, we can "Give Our Students A Strong Foundation."

Congratulations To The Varsity Football Team and Our Raffle Winners!

Foundation Offers Naviance Informational Sessions for Parents

WHS has adopted the Naviance System this year to assist our students and parents in the college application process.  Naviance is a delivery system and a college/career search engine. Walton Students will use Naviance for transcript requests, teacher/counselor recommendations, college visit registration, scholarship information, and documentation of Community Service Hours. Since the school year began, the
Counseling Department has been working with students
to assist them in setting up their student account and will continue this process until each student account is active.
Parents are also encouraged to set up a Parent account to monitor their student's e-Documents and to explore the incredible resources for choosing a college and career available through the Naviance system.

The WHS Foundation will be offering Informational Sessions for Parents during the week of Sept. 14th.

For any questions or concerns, please contact Sallie Winokur.

Please be sure to proudly display your 2016 WHSF Magnet on your vehicle as we will be holding random "Spot the Magnet" contests throughout the fall.
