Horse'n Around Rescue Gets Some New Riding Gear

One of our volunteer couples, Cecil and Robbin Simi (they also happen to be the proud parents of Tom), graciously donated money enabling us to purchase 6 brand new Troxel riding helmets and 5 saddle pads. The saddle pads are contoured and adjustable allowing us to better fit all of the unique needs of our horses. The riding helmets are also adjustable which means a perfect fit and a safe ride.

The Simis' said "They just wanted to do a little something to help out since they love volunteering here and Tom is extremely happy (fat and happy)".

We are very excited about the new equipment and very thankful to the Simis' for their generous donation.

Annual Volunteer Pot Luck

May 24th was our Volunteer Appreciation Pot Luck - of course it was a great party... there were great people! Did I mention all of the great food? If you missed it this year make sure you join us next year.

We also celebrated Kevin's 18th birthday and he got to go for a ride on Frankie.

Welcome to Pony Tails Newsletter.

Hi, we are Theresa Warrell and Steve Boice, co-founders of Horse'n Around Rescue Ranch and Foundation. We are excited to share our mission as well as all the wonderful things that are happening here.

We are really excited because this month has seen some amazing transformations in our rescue horses: Kaluha, Desert Rose, Mojo, Roany, Peaches, Trick, and Forrest. We have another horse health tip, the exiting events we have coming up, pictures of our annual Volunteer Appreciation Pot Luck, and a generous donation by one of our volunteer couples.
We Need A Forever Home
Youngsters Continue To Impress...

Desert Rose, Kaluha, and Mojo - have made a textbook transition from ground school to under saddle. It's a beautiful thing and we are proud of our volunteers that made this happen.  It took a lot of patience, love and hard work.

A New Adventure
Driving Team Training

Bailey and Sugar are transitioning from ground school to driving school to become a driving team.  They are showing great promise in their handling and attitude.

Amigo (above) and Spirit are going to their forever home together! We will miss this beautiful pair but we are so happy for them.

Volunteer Arena

Volunteers, Ed, Cindy, Chris, and Jessica, competed in the second local horse show in the Huachuca Saddle Club Show circuit. This competition further strengthens the horses' skills and training and gives them a new experience.

Cindy rode Peaches, Jessica rode Forrest, Chris rode Trick, and Ed rode Roany in the Western Walk Trot Class. Thank you Ed, Cindy, Chris, and Jessica for riding these wonderful beasts. You guys ROCKED! As you can see in their pictures below each of these horses is ready to be adopted and go to their forever home. If you would like to know more about any of these horses, feel free to email us.  We would love to talk with you about them.

Jessica also rode Cruiser in the Hunter Hack class and as you can see by his picture, he looked amazing. Wonderful job Jessica - you guys look like you have been competing forever.

Horse Health Tips
WATER & SHADE

As the temperature heats up during the summer months we want to emphasize the importance of providing shade and unlimited clean fresh water for all horses.  Horses that do not have access to water can quickly find themselves in a life or death situation.  Be vigilant about water supply and shade options.

Thank you for joining our Pony Tails Newsletter. We hope you continue to follow our Newsletter as each addition will introduce you to more stories of horses we have rescued, horses ready for adoption, and new topics of interest.

If you see a horse that you would like to adopt, please contact us and we will be happy to talk to you about adoption.
Sincerely,

Theresa Warrell and Steve Boice
