Countdown to the Celebration
We're just more than two weeks out from the Chamber's signature event to kick off 2016 - the Annual Celebration! Register now to join us for this fantastic evening on Friday, January 15, at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa. It will be a wonderful night as the community's business sector looks back at a tremendous year and looks ahead to what's in store for 2016. Plus we'll honor this year's Distinguished Service Award honoree Chuck Judson of Smith, Haughey, Rice and Roegge.

IMPACT | Advocacy for Business
Alliance Opposes Major Health Tax Bill
The Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance opposes House Bill 5105 sponsored by Rep. Al Pscholka (R-Stevensville) in the state Legislature that would extend and expand the Health Insurance Claims Assessment (HICA) tax on businesses and individuals who purchase health insurance in Michigan.

Learn more in this memo to Michigan lawmakers from Alliance Government Relations Director Kent Wood. The bill is expected to be on the calendar of the state Senate in January. The Alliance will continue to seek the best solution for employers in Northern Michigan and keep its members updated.

The Chamber is excited to bring January's Business After Hours to one of Traverse City's iconic cultural venues - the Old Town Playhouse. Join us Wednesday, January 20 as we kick off the 2016 Business After Hours schedule with a backstage look at this local treasure. TC New Tech Returns January 5
Kick off your New Year learning about the latest on the local technology scene. TC New Tech is a monthly gathering of tech enthusiasts co-sponsored by the Chamber where local presenters promote their technology related ventures and products.
