Petition to Ban Hydraulic Fracturing is Extreme
Safe and reliable energy production is critical to Michigan's economic future. That's why the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce opposes efforts to place a ban on hydraulic fracturing in front of Michigan voters in the 2016 election cycle. The Chamber board took action this week urging Michigan voters not to sign petitions by The Committee to Ban Fracking in Michigan being circulated across the state including Northern Michigan. Learn more about the Chamber's position on this important issue.

Chamber/Alliance Gain State Budget Wins

Michigan's 2015-16 budget of more than $54 billion is headed to Gov. Rick Snyder for approval, and the Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance fared very well in securing its legislative priorities in next year's spending plan.
Government Relation Director Kent Wood reports the Alliance helped stave off proposed cuts to rural hospital funding and increased liquor license fees. The budget also includes another $4 million for the successful Pure Michigan campaign. Click here for his budget breakdown.
