New Chairs for TBEDC & Chamber Foundation

Congratulations to Doug Wolf of Chase Bank who takes over as the 2015 Chair of the Traverse Bay Economic Development Corporation, and Sara Harding of the FIM Group who's the new chair of the Chamber Foundation Board.

 

Taking over as Chamber Board Chair in 2015 is Jeff Connolly, West Michigan President of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan. Here's a full list of new Chamber officers and directors for 2015.

 


Win a Free Energy Audit

Consumers Energy will offer a Chamber member a free energy assessment in 2015 at their business, a service valued at up to $1,000.

  • Eligible companies must be a Consumers Energy small business customer with a facility up to 20,000 square feet.
  • The audit will include energy and cost-saving estimates and estimated rebates.
  • Direct installation measures include programmable thermostats, LED lighting and exit signs, and faucet aerators.

Interested companies have until January 31, 2015 to apply. The application form includes contest rules and registration information. Completed applications should be submitted to the Chamber office in care of Chief Operating Officer Laura Oblinger.

Apply for 2015 Leadership Grand Traverse

Coming off a terrific year, the Leadership Grand Traverse program is poised for even greater things in 2015. The Chamber's flagship leadership development program is a great way for Chamber members to help their employees grow both personally and professionally, and become valuable assets in their companies and their community.

Applications are being accepted for the Spring 2015 Leadership Grand Traverse Class which begins in late February and continues into May.

 

The deadline is January 25 so apply today.

Chamber Advocacy Makes a Difference

The Chamber's legislative advocacy efforts during 2014 were impressive. Some of the accomplishments included Personal Property Tax relief for thousands of Michigan businesses approved by state voters last August, and support for the Healthy Michigan initiative that brought health insurance to thousands of Northern Michigan families and individuals.
