'Yes' on Prop 1 Endorsed by Chamber
The Traverse City Area Chamber and Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance endorse a "Yes" vote on Proposal 1 at the state Primary Election on Aug. 5. This proposal will make permanent the repeal of the Personal Property Tax (PPT) on Michigan small businesses approved by lawmakers two years ago, replacing those revenues with a more equitable essential service tax on large manufacturers.
You can learn more at an informational program on the Personal Property Tax on July 22 from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Michigan Works! office at 1209 S. Garfield Ave. in Traverse City. The Chamber is co-sponsoring the event with the Northwest Michigan Council of Governments and the Michigan Economic Development Corp. The program is free but pre-registration is needed and available by clicking here.
