Big Stakes at the Aug. 5 Primary Election - Get Registered!
There's plenty riding on Michigan's Aug. 5 primary election, including primary races for local seats in the Michigan Legislature and Proposal 1 to eliminate the Personal Property Tax (PPT) for small businesses.
But you and your employees can't participate if you're not registered to vote, and the registration deadline is less than two weeks away on July 7. Voter registration information is available by clicking here.

Vote "Yes" on Proposal 1
The Traverse City Area Chamber and the Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance both endorse "Yes" votes on Proposal 1. It will make permanent the elimination of the Personal Property Tax (PPT) levy on small businesses approved by state lawmakers two years ago, which will eventually be extended to all Michigan businesses. All revenues from the PPT will be replaced by expiring tax credits on Michigan businesses, plus an Essential Service Tax on manufacturers.

Got Sugar?

Among the reasons contributing to this phenomenon is the type and amount of the foods children eat.
