As Clackamas Community College approaches its 50th Anniversary in 2016, we want to celebrate the people and events that connect CCC and our community. We have compiled information to inform, inspire, and engage you in what is happening on our campuses. Please share this email with others who may be interested in CCC and the Foundation.

28th Annual Invitational Golf Tournament

Presented by General Distributors and MillerCoors

DATE: July 15, 2013
PLACE: Stone Creek Golf Club, Oregon City
LUNCH (BOX): 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
PUTTING CONTEST: 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
TEE TIME: 1:00 p.m. shotgun start
FEE: $135 per player ($675 team of 5)

DINNER, RAFFLE & AWARDS in the Clubhouse (upon completion of play)
Buy your raffle tickets any time during the day and spread them out among the 10 gift baskets. Or put all your tickets in one special basket that catches your eye. Two special items will be auctioned off in an oral auction followed by awards and the raffle. You will be on your way home by 7:30 p.m. - just in time to tuck the kids in!

THE BENEFICIARIES: Proceeds from the Invitational benefit CCC's Athletic Department and student athletes.

Chuck Clemans Sculpture Garden pARTy

Nancy Hungerford & artist, Ben Dye, discuss the materials and methods he used to construct "Prawns".

Over 1
00 family and friends attended this tribute to Chuck Clemans and his impact on the art community. The garden party was held Thursday, June 27.

Featured Speakers were: 
Dr. Joanne Truesdell 
Nancy Hungerford 
Ben Dye 
Karen Martini

Over $26,000 was raised during this event for a memorial endowment that will add new sculptures, create new garden seating, and enhance landscaping. Thank you to all who gave in Chuck's memory!

President's Circle Reception & CRT Production
Thursday, August 8
Reception: 6:00 pm, Gregory Forum
CRT Production: 7:30 pm, Osterman Theatre

President's Circle members are invited to join Dr. Joanne Truesdell for hosted hors d'oeuvres, wine and beverages in recognition of your generous contributions to the Foundation.

Following the reception, revel in the sounds and scenes of the Clackamas Repertory theatre produciton of "Kiss Me Kate" at a reduced price. Tickets are $18 per person or $25 per couple.

Reservations are required by Thursday, August 1.

Auction Coordinator for Foundation
Jessica Bruck
Jessica Bruck has been hired as the temporary raffle/auction coordinator for the Foundation. Jessica is a Clackamas Community College alum and also graduated from Western Oregon University. She has a Bachelors of Science in Communications with a focus on event planning. She aspires to work for a nonprofit in fund development. Jessica is accepting donations for the ParTee on the Green. Did you know...
Urban Ag Experience
Fresh, organically grown produce is sold on campus by CCC's horticulture students during Farmer's Market Tuesdays.

The Urban Agriculture Farm Experience class at CCC grows vegetables on campus using organic methods. They sell the produce on a food cart parked outside of the Community Center in the quad area at CCC's Oregon City campus on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to noon during summer term. Farmer's Market Tuesdays runs through Sept. 3. Funds raised benefit CCC student scholarships.

Each year after the plant sales, the Horticulture Dept. makes leftover plants available to non-profit organizations. This year plants were given to:

St Lutheran Church

   Master Gardeners
   'Plant an Extra Row'
Lettuce Grow 4 You
St Vincent De Paul

The Horticulture Dept. is pleased to be able to support these organizations who help feed our neighbors in need.

 

Spotlight on...
Women in Mathematics and Science

Endowment for Women in Mathematics & Science
The purpose of this endowed scholarship is to encourage women in the study of mathematics and science.

 

Six women, with combined mathematics teaching experience at Clackamas Community College of over 150 years, established this new endowment.
