Please join us at this month's Grant Guru's to learn more about Veridian Credit Union's grant program and Metro Funders.  Veridian's grant program focuses on Financial Literacy and Inclusive Community. In addition, Veridian sponsors Rapid Response grants.  Tom Wickersham will provide information on Metro Funders vision and purpose in the community.  This voluntary alliance of Black Hawk County public and private grant-makers has served the Cedar Valley since 1989.

United Way's Giving Event This Weekend...

     
 

Bring the kids in your life to learn about giving. Join United Way Emerging Leaders and UNI's Nonprofit Leadership Alliance for fun activities focused on giving to others.

 

Registration includes activities and a sack lunch. Adults are asked to learn and participate with the kids. Recommended for preschool through 4th grade. An optional swim is available at UNI's Wellness & Recreation Center for $3 following the event.  Space is limited! Reserve your seat today!

Nonprofit Summit ...


 

The Planning Team for the Iowa Nonprofit Summit is pleased to issue a Call for Session Presenters.  We are seeking presenters/trainers that can offer interesting and relevant trainings to our audience.  This biennial conference offers essential learning opportunities for Iowa nonprofit and volunteer management professionals.  Convening partners include: Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service (Volunteer Iowa), Larned A. Waterman Iowa Nonprofit Resource Center, United Ways of Iowa, Volunteer Centers of Iowa, Iowa Council of Foundations, Iowa Mentoring Partnership, Iowa RSVP and FGP/SC associations, and the Iowa Economic Development Authority's Main Street Iowa program.

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, we invite you to submit a workshop proposal:
  • Can you provide high-quality training that would be appropriate for Volunteer Management and/or Nonprofit professionals?

  • Are you looking for a unique way to answer "What's Your 50?" (Governor Branstad's challenge to all Iowans to spend 50 hours per year volunteering) 

  • Would you like to attend this conference at no cost or a 50% discount?  (workshop presenters are eligible for free one-day and reduced two-day registration)

Job Title:   Social Services Director of Black Hawk County


This position is responsible for the coordination of all Government and local contracts for all social services programs and institutions.  M
ust have the ability to develop a thorough understanding of community needs as well as the initiative and innovation necessary to address those needs in conceit with The Salvation Army's mission.  Assist the Social Services Case Manager with the administration of all Social Service Programs which include disaster services, program design and evaluation for unmet needs, policies and procedures, daily operations, and review and adhere to The Salvation Army and other regulatory standards.  Responsible for administration and continuing development of the social service programs, and their components, within Black Hawk County.

NewAldaya Lifescapes is seeking a full-time scheduling/staff coordinator. Must have health care/long term care experience in staffing, scheduling, or Human Resources (preferred).

Job Title:  Child Care Director 

 

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Child Care Director is responsible for the development and implementation of all child care programs including the Child Development Center, 8 School Age Child Care sites, Schools out Fun Days, Day Camps (Winter Break, Spring Break & Summer) and onsite child watch. The Director oversees the management of programs, including Child and Adult Care Food Program, facilities used, staff and volunteer development, and collaborations with community agencies in meeting the needs of YMCA members and program participants. 

The candidate must possess the experience and educational background suitable for the position. The position requires a BA/BS Degree or equivalent in work experience; a minimum of four years experience
in licensed childcare administration is preferred.
