CFNEIA'S Celebration of Communties event is exactly what the name implies.  It is a public celebration of the communities in northeast Iowa and a way to thank all of those who are involved in the errorts to make them better; nonprofits, fund holders, donors, businesses, volunteers and many more.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Northeast Iowa Chapter is proud to celebrate National Philanthropy Day� (NPD) by honoring Northeast Iowa's philanthropic leaders who have done so much to enrich our communities.  Join in the celebration and recognition of nominees and award recipients by attending the Awards Luncheon

 
What:  Awards Luncheon

Time:   11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Cost:  Reservations are $40 per person or $300 per table of eight

This year's keynote speaker is Jim Coloff and the guest emcee will be Dee Vandeventer, winner of last year's Philanthropy award.

We envision a world where society regularly looks past the disability they see to the person within. More Than You See is an entertaining fundraising event which will showcase and celebrate the value persons with disabilities contribute.

Who Doesn't Like A Fashion Show? 

 

What:   Fashion Show

When:  Thursday,October 23, 2014
Where: Trinkets and Togs Thrift Store
Time:   6:30 p.m.
Cost:    Free 

This a free community event where our clients model outfits they've found in our store, Trinkets and Togs.

Also, The Larrabee Center will be running a silent auction fundraiser to benefit our agency from October 13-23.

Advocacy Workshop --Sign Up Today ...

 

The next CVNA workshop is fast approaching and you won't want to miss out!


When:  Thursday, November 6, 2015

Time:    8:00 - 9:30 a.m.

What:   Advocacy Workshop (Al Hayes w/ UNI & Steve Firman (Unitypoint)

Where:  Philanthropy Center (US Bank Building. 425 Cedar Street,                         Waterloo = 3rd floor)


 
The session will examine the role of nonprofits in advocating for social change.  There is often confusion about what nonprofits can and cannot do in terms of influencing public policy decisions.  I will try to clarify the important role that they can play in bringing issues to the attention of decision-makers.

 

There will also be discussions on the PR side of advocacy.  There will be time allowed for questions.

Students Looking For Intern Opportunity ...

 

Do you know any students who are looking for an internship possibility? Please pass this along to anyone you know might be interested.

 

This is a paid position for students to get experience with event planning...Lunch with Santa, Heroes and possibly Festival of Trees (depending on when we find someone) and a variety of other activities at the Foundation.

 

Title:  Foundation Intern

 

Requirements:  Graduate or current enrollment as a senior in a Bachelor/Master's Degree Program. Ability to convey a positive image and build positive relationships with others. Ability to effectively communicate with people of diverse backgrounds through highly developed oral and written communication skills. Energetic, multi-task oriented and enthusiastic. Strong interpersonal and social skills.


Description:  Assists with work activities for the benefit of the Covenant Foundation including but not limited to event planning, fundraising efforts, and assisting with other duties as needed. Adheres to Covenant Health System's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.

Help Fight Childhood Hunger ...

 

Tyson Fresh Meats is again launching "Powering the Spirit," a campaign to raise money to end childhood hunger in the Cedar Valley.  One of the ways Tyson is able to raise money for the campaign is to hold "Sack Lunch Day" with area businesses.

  • The lunches will be delivered to your office on Thursday, October 30 and/or Friday, October 31.
  • The lunches are great for a special end of the week treat, lunch meetings or as a donation to an area organization. 
  • 100% of the funds raised with this campaign go to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
  • Orders need to be placed by Friday, October 24th.
