Senior Director of Community Resources
Cedar Valley United Way seeks an individual to provide leadership and coordination for the Campaign and Community Impact Work. This position will establish relationships with donors, volunteers and community members to gather resources to invest in the community. This position will lead the implementation of strategies to achieve the goals of collective community impact work.
Excellent communication, relationship building, interpersonal, and strategic planning skills are required. A Bachelor's degree and three years' experience in management and resource development is preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience and background. Competitive benefit package is included.

4-H Omelet Breakfast
Sunday, April 7, 2013
The Black Hawk County 4-H program will be holding its 19th annual Omelet Breakfast fund raiser on Sunday, April 7, serving 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the UAW Hall, 2615 Washington St., Waterloo. Proceeds support the 4-H program through camp scholarships, educational workshops, volunteer trainings and the county fair. The 4-H program works to develop life skills of youth with special emphasis on leadership, citizenship and communication. Tickets may be purchased at the door or from any Black Hawk County 4-H member. The breakfast features made to order omelets, pork sausage, hash browns, cinnamon rolls, toast and beverages. The cost is $6 for adults, $2 for youth age 6-10 and youth 5 and under are free. Human Trafficking Speaker
Rev. Brian McVeyThursday, April 11, 6:30-8:00 p.m at St. Stephen the Witness Catholic Student Center
Rev. Brian, a well-known leader in the fight against human trafficking in Iowa and at the national level, will present some basic facts about human trafficking, share stories of sexual trafficking & how prevalent it is in Iowa {including local examples}, signs of human trafficking, and what his congregation is doing to combat it. There will be plenty of time for questions during and after his presentation.

Northeast Iowa Food Bank
will host the annual
Combat Hunger at area grocery stores this weekend.
With the help of many volunteers and built-in incentives, it is anticipated that the event will yield record results. Food Bank staff and volunteers will be at the entrances of 12 local grocery stores
beginning on April 5th through April 7th. Volunteers will be located at all six Cedar Valley Hy-Vee Stores located in Waterloo, Cedar Falls and Waverly, Fareway stores located in Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Evansdale and Waverly, Hometown Foods and Randalls Stop N Shop.
Both volunteers and store employees will encourage shoppers to support this worthy cause. Store patrons can help by adding either $1 or $3 to their grocery bill or by making a cash or food donation directly to the volunteers. Volunteer help is still needed, so please contact us today to help. Finally, don't forget to visit one of the participating locations on April 5th - 7th and help us Combat Hunger.

Dancing for Downs
April 6, 2013 5pm-9pm Surf Ballroom, Clear Lake, IA
This 3rd annual event will be hosted by Designer Genes-Down Syndrome Group. Please join us in dancing the night away, bidding on the silent auction, enjoying food, making new friends, and having fun. Funds raised are used for awareness programs and activities for people with Down syndrome and their families. Request for Proposals: Iowa Women's Foundation 2014 Grants
The Iowa Women's Foundation (IWF) is accepting grant proposals for its annual grant-giving cycle for projects that begin on January 1, 2014 or later. The Foundation is seeking applications for projects that advance economic security and/or promote leadership opportunities for Iowa women and girls.
The deadline for applications is Friday, May 31, 2013 at 5 p.m.
All projects applying for funding from the IWF must be specifically for women and/or girls in Iowa. Informal groups of women and/or girls, grassroots organizations, and formal not-for-profit organizations may apply for funding. All proposed activities must be not-for-profit in nature. The IWF seeks to fund projects that go beyond the provision of direct services to create underlying social change. Together we can build a stronger statewide network of services for Iowa women and girls. Explore

RMHC-Eastern Iowa Grants to Help Local Children
Area non-profits can now apply for the Ronald McDonald House Charities� of Eastern Iowa (RMHC of Eastern Iowa) grant. Looking to improve the health and well-being of children beyond the walls of the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City, RMHC of Eastern Iowa will award over $35,000 to local organizations dedicated to the same mission.
The RMHC of Eastern Iowa Grants Program aims to make an impact on children's lives by awarding grants to qualified non-profit organizations assisting thousands of children outside of the Ronald McDonald House. Over the course of its five year existence with RMHC of Eastern Iowa, this program has impacted over 17,000 children that never had the need to step inside the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City.
Applications for the grants are due no later than September 3, 2013.
