Greetings!
|
It seems that just after we just caught our breath from our last trip in August 2012 where we did some medical assessments and purchased some new shoes for the children, that now we're already getting ready to do a return visit in January to finish up the medical assessments, dispense some needed medicines, and perform some minor medical procedures we weren't able to complete our last visit. On the last visit, Maureen identified the following medical issues, impacted Cerumen (ear wax), Conjunctivitis, intestinal worms and fungal infections of the skin. The children are excited when they get their new shoes every year. Ugandan Lambs does this wonderful event every year for the children. Praise the Lord for this kindness He has extended to our children. Praise God, someone Maureen met on the plane last trip donated some medications and antibiotics for us to take with us on this next trip in January. Praise the Lord again, we also now have donated Bibles to bring over this trip as well. The Lord is good, isn't he? He's concerned with the Spiritual well-being of the children as well as their physical and emotional needs. The Good Shepherd still lets us know that He cares for and loves our Ugandan Lambs children even more than we do. This reminds us of a wonderful verse and promise about the Lord's provision and care for us, Matthew 6:26 " Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?" It is our goal to feature a child each month and tell you their story. This month, we're happy to present a short story for Abedunego Semugera, Sponsor ID 001. At this point, he is not sponsored, so if you're interested in sponsoring Abedunego or any other children, you can click on the link below to sponsor a child. Just let us know in the payment comments which child you would like to sponsor by ID # and child name. If you would just like to help our general fund, let us know that as well. Some sponsors have been creative and co-sponsored a child together. Any amount of participation, we're truly grateful for. We do also want committed prayer partners since we hold strong to our belief in God's providence. Serving the Lord Joyfully In His Service, Ruth and Sam Sebabi Original Founders and Directors

School Season is almost here!
Our financial goal for the children's 2013 school year is $17,000. We've raised $2,000 for this specific need. This amount needs to be prepaid by the end of January 2013 for the upcoming school year. Please pray that we will not be anxious and worry but trust in the Lord's provision, Phil. 4:6-7, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Look at the excitement of the Children Getting New Shoes
Our last trip in (need to supply month and year) held some excitment and joy for the kids. Look at Hellen's barely contained excitement in trying on a new pair of shoes. Ugandan Lambs does this wonderful event every year for the children. The children always come first, and we look forward to working with new and current supporters to help them grow and mature physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Want to Join Us for A Trip In The Near Future or Volunteer to help us in administration?
We could use some office help (about 20 hours a week - can be split up with a few volunteers) to help Sam and Ruth out with the necessary administration to run the Ugandan Lambs ministry effectively. Your office skills will help us in ensuring that the Ugandan Lambs children mature physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Learn more.

Abedunego would like to become a doctor
Abedunego's parents died from HIV/AIDS when he was 4 years old. His father was the nephew of Ruth Sebabi, co-founder of Ugandan Lambs. He has one brother who is not currently in the Ugandan Lambs program. When their parents died, the children lived with an elderly grandmother who could not adequately care for them. Their aunt Ruth, decided to personally care for the children at the Ugandan Lambs orphanage where they were provided with a safe, nurturing environment. Abedunego would like to become a doctor. Read biographies like his and more.
