During the next few weeks it is easy to get caught up in the "holiday blitz".I am sure that some of you will brave Black Friday! Please know that I would appreciate not having to bail anyone out of jail because they ran over 3 people to get the last blue light special on the display table!!!I just returned from a trip with Captain Steve Burnett and 12 outstanding cadets from the Willard Navy NJROTC organization.I hired Captain Burnett when he was still in the service 13 years ago .He is an amazing person. When you get around these kids they simply make your chest swell with pride. It gives me great hope in our future! After the trip I think about a few important things that I often take for granted. Today I am very thankful for:
- My family is safe, healthy, and living in a quality shelter.
- I enjoy a freedom that many parts of the world will never understand.
- Our community public school is outstanding.(If I do say so myself!)
- My toilet is clean and has a lid!(Let me know if you want the entire story!)
- I don't have to live behind a fence to feel safe at night!
- I work among friends that are outstanding in their service to children.
Today my glass is not only half full it is overflowing! I am thankful for each of you and your dedication to Willard students. I pray that all of you have an outstanding Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends. If you find yourself alone, give me a call. There is always room at the Medlin house for another plate.(I'm not kidding!)
Have a restful break!

Well the Lady Tigers got our winter season started with a bang by defeating Monett Monday night 64-19! Both the Lady Tigers and Tigers will be playing in Rolla this Saturday in the Rolla Shootout. The girls will play Rolla at 3:00pm followed by the boys who will also play Rolla.
Next week, we will be hosting the girl's JV tournament on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We will then host the 25th annual CoxHealth Willard Four-State Classic starting on Thursday. Games will begin at 4:00pm and our Lady Tigers will play Ft. Scott at 7:00pm followed by the Tigers at 8:30. Both teams will play Springdale Har-Ber on Friday at the same times. On Saturday, games start at 1:00pm with our girls playing Broken Arrow at 2:30. Our boys will play Broken Arrow at 5:45. At halftime of the boys game we will be recognizing the group of people responsible for starting the tournament 25 years ago. It should be a special evening and I hope you can come out to see it.
What a great turnout for the Speech and Debate team at the Buffalo Tournament last weekend! Mercer Martin won first in International Extemporaneous speaking, in Radio Speaking Dusty Bacon won fourth, Mercer Martin third and Greg Hamilton first. In Humorous Interpretation Kayleigh Amstutz won third and Greg Hamilton won second, and in Dramatic Interpretation Greg also won second. We had three members in prose ready with Chenoa Schwenn winning sixth, Dusty Bacon fourth, and Hayden Onstott second with Dusty also placing second in Poetry Reading! The team also won first place in overall sweepstakes! Great Job!!
It's Good To Be A Tiger! - And Happy Thanksgiving!
