As Palm Sunday approaches this coming Sunday, we prepare for Jesus' return from the desert and arrival in Jerusalem. With the Lenten season drawing to an end, and many churches finishing devotional programs that have been held weekly since Ash Wednesday, do you feel a deeper understanding of your faith? What devotions - both at your church and outside of it - have resonated most with you?

Together for Peace in Syria
Syrian young adults ask world to join them in worldwide prayer event
A group of young adults from churches across Syria are calling for the world to join them in kindling the candle of peace by praying together simultaneously on Friday, April 11, at 9:00 p.m. GMT (5:00 p.m. EDT).
The prayer event, "Together for Peace in Syria," aims to send a message to the world about the power of peace - and to nourish the spirit of love in Syria to prevail - despite the pain of a three-year proxy war.
"We hope Christians - young adults - around the world become rebels for peace," said Milad Alkaed, Syrian Multimedia Youth Team member. "We are sowing seeds of hope to achieve the impossible, using peace as a strategic option to stop the promotion and funding of war."
The Syrian Multimedia Youth Team works for positive change within Syrian society by using modern media and technology to encourage local development and dialogue for peace. Many team members belong to PC(USA) partner churches and are leaders within the National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon.

Hands Across Buffalo 2014

Hands Across Buffalo is a celebration of diversity where Buffalo will stand united against poverty. On May 17, around 7,000 people will join hands across the length of East and West Ferry Streets from the Niagara River to Bailey Avenue. Ferry Street was chosen because it crosses several racially and economically diverse neighborhoods. It also has a rich history including its connection to the Underground Railroad. The event will be followed by a series of discussions and programs throughout the city. These presentations will include the topics of diversity and poverty. We plan to draw national attention with the event, showcasing Buffalo as a proudly united community.
