If there is one thing clear in the Scriptures, it is the love of God.
John did not only describe a God "who loves," "in love," "loves all" but a God whose full essence is love (1 John 4:8). God is the author, sustainer, and source of love.
God loves you and He loves you unconditionally. His embrace is eternally wide. His promises are perfectly secure. Like cleansing stream, compassion flows ceaselessly from his heart.
God loves you. Trials are never punishments but corrections, interventions and embrace--all springing forth from a God who loves you so much he doesn't want you to remain the same.
Let me show you two paintings. The first one, a humble stable. With cows munching, and hooves crunching. Cobwebs cling to the ceiling and hays all around the manger. There is no place on earth humbler. But many years ago, God choose to be born there. God entered the world as a baby, so he can bring heaven to you and me.
God loves you. If you want to know the extent of his love, here is the second painting-look at Calvary. It is when humanity was at its worst and yet God was at his best-he gave his only son when we can give him nothing but nails. He died so you and I can have eternal life.
God loves you. Why don't you do the same? Meaning, love yourself unconditionally. And it is only by doing so that we can share God's unconditional love to a hurting world in need of authentic loving.
God loves you. Why? Because God is love.
