May 2-8: Library Children's Book Week. Contact Library 512-556-3251.

May 7: Cinco de Mayo Celebration at WM Brook Park from 12-8pm. Activities will include hair and face painting, sidewalk art, live music, disc jockey, food, and retail vendors. Contact Chamber of Commerce 512-556-5172.

May 8: Mother's Day. Shop Lampasas for that special gift for that special lady!

May 11: "Dragons" preschool story time at the Library at 10am. Contact Library 512-556-3251.

May 27: Lampasas ISD High School Graduation at 7:30pm at the Badger field.

May 28-30: 66th Annual A.C. January Memorial Day Invitational Tournament from 8am-1pm. During this tournament course will be closed. Contact Golf Pro Shop 512-556-3202.

May 28-30: Hanna Springs Pool and Hancock Springs Pool will be open from 12-7pm. Contact 512-734-1315.

May 30: City offices and Library closed in observance of Memorial Day. Trash services will run one day behind the entire week.

PUBLIC UTILITIES NOTIFICATION

Utility Customers: Please be aware that a scam has been targeting utility customers.Lampasas Public Utilities will not call and advise you that you need to pay your bill or you will be disconnected. Please do not give out your information to anyone that claims you must make a payment as soon as possible. The process for the utility accounts is as follows: LPU sends out the bill in the mail, if the bill is not paid by the due date, then a late notice is placed in the mail, and after the late notice due date, a door tag will be placed on the door prior to the account being disconnected. Please call at 512-556-3641 if you have any questions regarding your account.

Photo-of-the-Month Contest: Enter our photo-of-the-month contest by visiting www.cityoflampasas.com for contest rules and emailing your photo to photocontest@cityoflampasas.com . The City Council will announce the monthly winning photo at the first regular City Council meeting. Winners will receive a City of Lampasas insulated tumbler w/straw and posting of their photo on the web site.

Can You Be Located In An Emergency? The owner of every house or building within the City is required to have a house number placed theron that is readily visible from the public right-of-way on which the structure fronts or faces. The numbers shall be a minimum of three inches in height and contrast with the background on which they are placed, made of material that will not tarnish, corrode or deteriorate unreasonably. Not only will this assist emergency personnel but the US Postal service as well.
