DECEMBER EVENTS
 
November 2-December 4: Fall Brush Chipping Program. Contact Lampasas Public Works 512-556-8315.

November 9-December 15: The Lampasas Fire Department will be accepting new toy/bike donations for the annual FD toy drive event. Donations can be dropped off at the Fire Department Monday-Sunday from 8am-5pm. Please do not wrap the toys so that they may be disbursed to the age appropriate child. Contact 512-556-3446.

December (all month): Library "Goodie Jar" contest - guess how many items are in the jar. The closest guess wins the jar of goodies!

December 2: "Houses" preschool story time at the Library at 10am. Contact Library 512-556-3251.

December 3-5: Library Book Sale Blowout! All book sale inventory will be available for purchase! Contact Library 512-556-3251.
 
December 4: Christmas on the Creek! Music begins at 5pm, arrival of Santa Claus at 6, and kickoff lighting will be at 6:15pm at WM Brook Park. Hayrides, caroling, candy canes, hot chocolate stand, and much more!

December 5: Carol of Lights will begin at 6pm at the Courtyard Square. Contact Chamber of Commerce 512-556-5172.

December 5: Boot Scoot Jingle Run will take place at the historic downtown bandstand at 9am. Entry fee is $25.00 per individual early registration or $30.00 per individual after December 1, 2015. Medals will be given for the first 3 places in each age group. Male and female for the 5k & 1 mile. This race is being timed and scored using RFID Ultra Timing with bib-chip technology provided by AllSports Timing. A t-shirt is guaranteed to the first 200 entries.

December 5: Town & Country Bazaar from 12-6:30pm at the Historic Lampasas County Courthouse. Come enjoy the music and festive atmosphere as you shop for unique gifts from a wide variety of vendors such as: crafts, jewelry, wreaths, Christmas decorations, leather goods, home decor, clothing, cosmetics, essential oils, bath products, and more! The Bazaar is held in conjunction with the annual Carol of Lights celebration in downtown Lampasas.

December 6: Lampasas County Museum Tour of Homes from 1-5pm at 303 S. Western Street. Admission is $7.00. Tickets are available at the Word Christian Bookstore and the Lampasas County Museum.

December 8: "How Pinteresting!" Ornament making class at the Library from 5-7pm. $5 fee to cover cost of materials. Deadline to sign up and pay is December 1. Contact Library 512-556-3251.

December 12: Kid Fish at W.M. Brook Park from 9am-12pm. Registration will be at 8am. Prizes and awards will be given. Contact Micky 512-734-1076.

December 19: Fire Department Toy Drive Handout at the Fire Station from 7-10am. Contact 512-556-3446.

December 24-26: City offices and Library will be closed for the Christmas holidays. Trash services will run one day behind. Thursdays pickup will be on Friday and Friday's pickup will be on Saturday.

FIRE DEPARTMENT TOY DRIVE

The Lampasas Fire Department would like to remind the Lampasas community of the annual toy drive. You can donate new toys or bikes to the Lampasas Fire Department at 1107 East 4th Street Monday through Sunday, 8am-5pm. Please do not wrap gifts so that they may be handed out to the age appropriate child. The FD will also take tax deductible donations. This money goes towards the Christmas fund and will be distributed out to families in the Lampasas community as a relief fund for residential house fires to help the families involved.

The Lampasas Fire Department will take new toys and bikes until December 15th. They take donations year round.

New toys will be handed out on December 19, 2015 from 7am-10am at the Lampasas Fire Department.

If you would like to receive toys for your family, applications can be picked up at the local churches.

Photo-of-the-Month Contest: Enter our photo-of-the-month contest by visiting www.cityoflampasas.com for contest rules and emailing your photo to photocontest@cityoflampasas.com . The City Council will announce the monthly winning photo at the first regular City Council meeting. Winners will receive a City of Lampasas insulated tumbler w/straw and posting of their photo on the web site.

 

Can You Be Located In An Emergency? The owner of every house or building within the City is required to have a house number placed theron that is readily visible from the public right-of-way on which the structure fronts or faces. The numbers shall be a minimum of three inches in height and contrast with the background on which they are placed, made of material that will not tarnish, corrode or deteriorate unreasonably. Not only will this assist emergency personnel but the US Postal service as well.
