SEPTEMBER EVENTS

 

September: September is Library card signup month. Sign up for a library card in September and get a free book from their book sale. Contact Library 512-556-3251.

 

Sept. 5-7: Hancock Pool open for Labor Day weekend. Contact 512-734-1315.

 

Sept. 7: City offices & Library will be closed in observance of Labor Day. Trash service will run one day behind the entire week of Labor Day. 

 

Sept. 8: "How Pinteresting!" jewelry making class from 5-7p.m. at the Library. Sign up at the Library by close of business Saturday, Sept. 5. $5 fee to cover cost of materials is due at signup. Contact Library at 512-556-3251.

 

Sept. 9: "Patriotism" preschool story time at the Library at 10a.m. Contact Library at 512-556-3251.

 

Sept. 12: Riata Roundup Festival. Contact the Chamber of Commerce at 512-556-5172.

 

Sept. 19: Gulf Coast Sports Association (GSA) Softball Tournament. Contact Miguel Gorgas at 254-833-0478.

 

Sept. 19: Catholic Church Golf Tournament at 8a.m. During this tournament, the course will be closed. Contact Golf Pro Shop at 512-556-3202.

Sept. 23: "Helping Others" preschool story time at the Library at 10am. Contact Library at 512-556-3251.

Sept. 24: Disaster Preparedness program at the Library from 5-6:30p.m. Contact Library at 512-556-3251.

Sept. 26: Lampasas County Wine tour. Contact Chamber of Commerce at 512-556-5172.

Library Online Catalog: Check out the Library online catalog. When you log in, you can access your account,place reserves, and renew materials... all online, from the comfort of your home. Photo-of-the-Month Contest: Enter our photo-of-the-month contest by visiting www.cityoflampasas.com for contest rules and emailing your photo to photocontest@cityoflampasas.com . The City Council will announce the monthly winning photo at the first regular City Council meeting. Winners will receive a City of Lampasas insulated tumbler w/straw and posting of their photo on the web site.

 

Can You Be Located In An Emergency? The owner of every house or building within the City is required to have a house number placed theron that is readily visible from the public right-of-way on which the structure fronts or faces. The numbers shall be a minimum of three inches in height and contrast with the background on which they are placed, made of material that will not tarnish, corrode or deteriorate unreasonably. Not only will this assist emergency personnel but the US Postal service as well.
