AUGUST EVENTS

June 2-August 23: 2015 Pool Season. Hanna Pool Season opens June 2nd Tues.-Sat. 12-7pm. Sun. 1-6pm. Closed Mondays. Hancock Pool Season opens June 4th Thurs.-Sat. 12-7pm. Sunday 1-6pm. Closed Mon., Tues. & Wed. Contact Hanna Pool for more information 512-556-4048. After August 23rd, the pool(s) will be open on weekends contingent to lifeguard availability.

August 1: Jeff Urofsky 3-Person Scramble at 1pm. During this tournament the course will be closed. Contact Golf Pro Shop 512-556-3202.

August 1: GSA (Gulf Coast Sports Association) Softball Tournament at the 580 Sports Complex. Contact Miguel Gorgas 254-833-0478.

 

August 1: Moonlight Swim at Hancock Springs Pool. Come enjoy a moonlight swim at the Hancock Free Flow Swimming Pool along with live music. There will be a pot-luck supper (attendees are asked to bring a covered dish), drinks will be provided. General admission is $3.50/per adult and $2.50/per child. Contact Micky 512-734-1076.

 

August 8: The Indian Artifact Show will be at from 9am-4pm. Location is TBD. Vendors from all over Texas and nearby states showcase their archeological collection and wares. Pendants, pottery, ceramics, points, tips, decorations, axes, and many other interesting artifacts on display. Contact Chamber of Commerce 512-556-5172.

 

August 8: Movie in the Park. Movie to be shown is McFarland USA. Movie starts at dusk. Contact Micky 512-734-1076.

 

August 12: "Birthdays" pre-school story time at the Library at 10am. Contact Library 512-556-3251.

 

August 14: Special Needs Support Group meeting at the Library from 3-5pm. Contact Library 512-556-3251.

 

August 22: Atmos Energy Golf Tournament at 8am. During this tournament, course will be closed. Contact Golf Pro Shop 512-556-3202.

August 26: "Manners" pre-school story time at the Library a 10am. Contact Library 512-556-3251.

Library Online Catalog: Check out the Library online catalog. When you log in, you can access your account,place reserves, and renew materials... all online, from the comfort of your home. Photo-of-the-Month Contest: Enter our photo-of-the-month contest by visiting www.cityoflampasas.com for contest rules and emailing your photo to photocontest@cityoflampasas.com . The City Council will announce the monthly winning photo at the first regular City Council meeting. Winners will receive a City of Lampasas insulated tumbler w/straw and posting of their photo on the web site.

 

Can You Be Located In An Emergency? The owner of every house or building within the City is required to have a house number placed theron that is readily visible from the public right-of-way on which the structure fronts or faces. The numbers shall be a minimum of three inches in height and contrast with the background on which they are placed, made of material that will not tarnish, corrode or deteriorate unreasonably. Not only will this assist emergency personnel but the US Postal service as well.
