2015 CITY COUNCIL ELECTION
  
The City of Lampasas is holding a General Election on May 9, 2015 for the purpose of electing Mayor and City Council members. Candidates include:

Mayor: Jerry Grayson
Place 1: Wanda Bierschwale
Place 2: Christian Toups
Place 6: TJ Monroe

The first day for filing a application for place on the ballot in City Hall is January 28th. The last day for filing an application for place on the ballot is February 27th.

Early voting begins April 27, 2015 and ends May 5, 2015.
  
FEBRUARY EVENTS
  
February 4: "Valentine's Day" preschool story time at the Library at 10am. Contact Library 512-556-3251.
 
February 16: City offices & Library will be closed for President's Day. Trash services will run on schedule.  

February 18: "ABCs & 123s" preschool story time at the Library at 10am. Contact Library at 512-556-3251.

How You Can Love Your Library:
 
Contribute
  • Consider a tax-deductible gift to your library
  • Buy your library a subscription to a popular magazine
  • Honor a friend's or relative's birthday with a book for the library
  • Remember your library in your estate planning

Volunteer

  • Offer a committed helping hand to your library's staff
  • Present an adult program
  • Read stories to children

Promote

  • Support library referenda in elections
  • Write to your state and federal legislators and demand that library service be viewed (and funded) as a necessary public service
  • Urge school and college administrators to make library funding a high priority
  • Speak up for libraries at campus or community groups that you belong to (PTA, Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce, etc.)  
 FREE CHLORINE BURNOUT

 

Kempner Water Supply Corp., Central Texas Water Supply, and the City of Lampasas will be conducting a treatment change in their systems beginning January 5, 2015 thru February 3, 2014. All systems will be going from chlorine and ammonia to free chlorine.

Photo-of-the-Month Contest: Enter our photo-of-the-month contest by visiting www.cityoflampasas.com for contest rules and emailing your photo to photocontest@cityoflampasas.com . The City Council will announce the monthly winning photo at the first regular City Council meeting. Winners will receive a City of Lampasas insulated tumbler w/straw and posting of their photo on the web site.

 

Can You Be Located In An Emergency? The owner of every house or building within the City is required to have a house number placed theron that is readily visible from the public right-of-way on which the structure fronts or faces. The numbers shall be a minimum of three inches in height and contrast with the background on which they are placed, made of material that will not tarnish, corrode or deteriorate unreasonably. Not only will this assist emergency personnel but the US Postal service as well.
